As this year was virtual there isn't much to advise. Assuming that Mr. Washington's assignments online are similar to the ones in person, I would advise people to be on top of your work and get things done immediately. Just like in any class, don't procrastinate and you'll be fine!

Advice I would give to future students taking this class would be to take a lot of notes. A lot of this class is memorizing important details about events that happened in our history. By taking notes, this will help you have a better idea of the event and it can help you when we do tests and quizzes. Make sure to participate in class and ask questions when you are confused. Answer questions thoroughly on the homework and do not put only a couple sentences. Try to show your thinking even if it is incorrect. The effort shows more than having all the right answers.

Useful advice I would give other students to succeed would be that Mr. Washington doesn't play around. He is serious about US History and wants the student to come out of his class with knowledge about US History. He gives a normal amount of homework/tests/quizzes in my opinion but when he does it is always a good idea to study beforehand. Mr. Washington is nice and for the most part, cooperates with the student which is very helpful.

This class is for U. S. History. We get homework everyday which takes about half an hour to an hour to complete. When it comes to projects, the grading is very strict. Unfortunately, it's difficult to know why you receive a lower score on the project because there's no feedback once it's graded. For a class that isn't AP, it was quite challenging.

I believe that a teacher's personality and attitude towards their students strongly impact the way students learn. In saying that, I really appreciated Mr. Washington. Although this year was virtual, he was able to keep the same positive attitude that I look for and admire in a teacher. I'm sure that he probably had his own problems in his life that he had to deal with, but he was still able to keep a positive attitude throughout the school year which made being in the class very pleasurable. In regards to assignments that were given, they were fairly simple to complete and were given out weekly. I found myself very enthralled in the assignments. I tend to dread doing work simply because of the teacher teaching. I don't have any negative feelings towards Mr. Washington because he had the capability of making a safe environment even on zoom. I never raise my hand or participate during classes because I don't like the environment, but thanks to Mr. Washington, I was able to have a stress-free time in his U. S. History class all while learning new things at the same time.

Overall, I had a good experience being in this class. I personally never had too much trouble understanding the units and all of the work and assignments seemed pretty manageable for me. It was interesting to learn about certain parts of our history that I had never been aware about. I also thought it was cool that we got to do projects that allowed us to be very creative while also teaching us about each historical event. This was a cool class and anyone who takes it in the future should remember to do their best in this class.
