In this class, you have to pay attention to be able to learn the material because math is not an easy subject to learn if you do not pay attention. You take notes almost daily which helps with doing homework, and notes count a lot for grades. The notes help with homework, quizzes, and tests. She also posts the notes as videos or pictures which you can come back to or use if you miss a day. She is very open when it comes to late work. And you would still get full credit for the late work. She is a very easy person to talk to when it comes to asking questions or for help. And I personally do not like asking questions but in her class, I felt very comfortable with it. She makes her class environment very friendly and kind because of how she is always ready to help and goes at a pace you would like. She also has hours outside of class to get help, which is very helpful. And you can also email her for help with homework and questions. I enjoyed her class a lot because I learned a lot but was also very comfortable in the class.

To pass this class you'll have to pay attention in class. Because if you don't listen you'll be lost while doing your homework. Homework plays a big part too in the success of this class, if you don't do your homework your grade will drop. The last thing you can do to succeed in the class is study. Because the main thing that makes up your grade are tests, so you need to do well on them. Other than that she's a great teacher and she's always willing to help students that might be confused in-office hours.

Studying is the most important thing that you can do to succeed in this class. Her honors class is very fast-paced compared to other honors classes. There isn’t too much work given that is mandatory, only the homework based on each section. So your grade heavily relies on your test and quiz scores. She does provide extra worksheets for practice so it’s a good idea to do them even if you feel like you don’t need to. She also uploads videos of the lessons. It would be helpful to go back and watch them if you don’t quite understand something or missed a class. I recommend that you always ask questions when you don’t understand something, whether it’s what she’s teaching or the homework.

My first and probably the most important piece of advice is to make sure to spend lots of time studying outside of school. Honors precalculus is definitely not like other honors math classes that you previously took. Because of the numerous topics covered, foundational skills needed, and how rigourous/intense the class is, students(including me) often struggle, especially in the first semester. Be sure to memorize the Unit Circle, as that will be a necessity for the whole school year. Reach out to Mrs Wilke, she is super patient and understanding and really appreciates it when students talk to her, as well as ask questions. Do your homework and put effort into making it neat and precise. Show all work on the quizzes/tests or you will get points marked off. This is probably really obvious, but don't leave studying till the day before the quiz/test, make sure to do so weeks prior (Mrs Wilke posts a calendar for each chapter so you can plan ahead). The review worksheets and test topics reference sheet are all really helpful and I'd recommend doing the review as well as going through each topic and doing plenty of practice problems. Even if you do end up getting a bad grade in the class, keep trying and working hard because one bad grade doesn't define you! Although I struggled in this class and the fact that I didn't really like math in general, Mrs Wilke made it very enjoyable.
