ALWAYS PRACTICE. Practice truly does make it perfect when your in this class. Socializing is also extremely important, you will most likely find your kind of people there if you do. Personally, I've made friends with people that I didn't even talked to before and now they are considered some of my most closest friends. Communication is also a key factor, do not be afraid to ask questions and address any problems at hand with those around you. Overall, just have fun and enjoy singing with others that enjoy the same thing.

This class might seem easy but there is so much work that happens in this class. In this class, practice is everything. We aren’t given much work to do outside of class but to practice. The class is heavily focused on teamwork and hard work. You’ll always be working with others during outside of class. As long as you’re working hard and constantly striving to do better, there’s nothing to worry about. Other than that, this class is fun and will teach you a lot of skills that will help you outside of high school.

If you have this teacher, it most likely means you're in choir. For choir wise, this class is really fun and a great place to be. For each song, you usually start out at the piano with the teacher and learning you're part piece by piece. Then slowly but surely you get to memorizing each song. Practicing is super important in this class and practicing at home is highly recommended and should be done. Keep in mind, this is a choir class so it shouldn't stress you out too much. It's generally a very nice environment and you're with people that love to do that same thing as you, sing. For tests, there is a music theory part in the year where you learn about music theory and have a short quiz afterward. There are also finals which can vary depending on the choir. Some just have you sing a song of your choice in front of the class and others require teamwork and group performances.

Actively listen. There is very minimal work involved in this class, it's all just about being attentive to detail. We are not assigned as much homework because we do the work during class/rehearsal. It's just important that when you're told to fix or improve on a mistake, that you actually do. It's important not to stay on auto-pilot, as that will get you the most in trouble. It's also good to be polite and kind.

Memorize everything, practice, and have fun. As long as you're doing your job as a student, this class can be very fun.

Mrs. McShane is an amazing choir director! As someone who loves singing and dancing, I couldn't pass up the opportunity of being a part of the school's Show Choir. As someone who's worked with Mrs. McShane for almost four years, I find it safe to say that she is like a second mother to me. She is always so caring and polite, and is sympathetic to those who are enduring a hard time. I often find myself running to her asking for help on anything and everything, and she'll always have an answer. I enjoy the atmosphere she creates, and I know that she is heavily passionate about her job as the choirs' conductor and director. She is very easygoing and lenient with everything, and makes singing a lot more fun! Truly don't know where I'd be without her.
