Keep an organized notebook for notes so that it's easy to look back at it to study for tests.

The study guides are probably the most important things you should do for this class, as it will cover pretty much all the notes you do in class, the tests, and the overall chapters. My mistake was doing all the study guides the day before they were due, and it would take hours, so try and do a little everyday because they are assigned weeks before they’re due. Another thing is that you should take notes during the presentation in class because a lot of what is on the class notes is on the tests, but might not be in the textbook. Ask questions when you don’t understand something or need clarification, Ms Lombardi will not shame you, she’s very good at explaining things in simple terms. Also, make sure that you follow rubrics when doing SAQs and DBQs to get all the points.

Do your study guides at least 3-4 days before it is due! Study guides and tests make up most of your grade and the day study guides are due are test days. If you do not do them early you will be stuck staying up extremely late to read 1-3 chapters of your textbook, writing 10-30 paragraphs, and 40-120 ID terms. I can not stress enough how many nights I stayed awake until 7 am doing the study guides the night before it was day, only to come to class exhausted for the test. Procrastination will get you nowhere and this class will definitely teach you that. Tests are mostly to prepare you for your AP exams and rely heavily on memorization, if you complete the study guide and read the appropriate chapters you should be good. Be cautious of your time as well! This is an AP class and limited time was given to complete the work given.

APUSH with Ms. Lombardi has been amazing! She's an extremely caring teacher who takes the time to work with you and help you with anything. She is also super smart and engages us in discussions that are very accessible for everyone. Ms. Lombardi is so supportive and encouraging- and that is extremely important for a fast-paced course like APUSH. My experience in APUSH has been so great because of her!

I'd recommend anyone taking this class to pay attention during class because she provides a lot of useful information that will help you succeed on the AP exam as well as her own tests. I'd also recommend them to start the study guides at least two days in advance. If you're like me and you're prone to procrastination, it can turns in to a lot of work if you continue to leave it off. The study guides are pretty hefty but if you delegate your time wisely, you should have an ample amount of time to complete the study guides. Though this class may seem daunting, I highly encourage anyone who enjoys learning about history to take on AP US history. Ms. Lombardi is a wonderful teacher who any student would be very lucky to have.
