Wei

First off, AP English Lang and AP Lit are two of the hardest classes at Aragon, and require lots of reading, writing, and studying overall. For Ms. Wei, no aspect of the class (quizzes, essays, homework) is weighted, which inflates everyone's grades to a certain degree. This is helpful, but is is still important to write practice essays to practice rhetorical and synthesis essays in a certain amount of time (preferably 40 minutes for the rhetorical essay and 55 minutes for the synthesis). To find out the grading criteria for all essays, check out the AP English 6 point grading criteria because Ms. Wei bases everything off of that. It is very difficult to get all six points, but also rare to score lower than a 3 on the essays. Typically, most people either miss the B4 point or the C point, so make sure to focus your studying on the C point (sophistication) and quality of your commentary. Although classwork and homework can occasionally be time-consuming, especially if there is reading, usually it is pretty easy to get credit for everything except for the essays. The key to get an A is Ms. Wei's class is to use her College Board page for studying resources, and to email her when you have ANY questions about the class material. She is pretty accessible, and is really easy to talk to, so I'd highly recommend reaching out to her even if you're pretty confident about something!
