Graded off of a 4 point system, classwork is 1% of your grade, essays are 99% of your grade. Focus on getting your work done and you'll be ok for the MOST part, if you get flagged for AI, defend your essay with your life until the end unless you were obvious about it.

Very easy class, just use flash cards to help with memorization, she may say the study/review guide is only test concepts but if you copy every concept off of it on your cheat sheet you'll be fine for tests and quizzes. Classwork is extremely easy and most of the time just following along with her copy of the classwork on the projector. Focus in class and get your work done you can goof off the rest of time and still have a good grade. Quiz's are open note so any notes you have or worksheets from the unit and test's are allowed one half page of notes one side only but still helpful.

In English 1a, the vocabulary is a good buffer for your grade if you do it consistently, At times there can be a lot of reading, if you can either read ahead or use another method to ensure that you do not fall behind. She does test at times of details within the book to ensure you have read. One of the ways she gets around spark notes is to include the footnotes of the text (I'm looking at you Odysseus) in the quizzes.

Guitar 1 and 2 are both breezes IF YOU PRACTICE AT HOME. Guitar ensemble gets tough sometimes depending on the music piece but practice makes perfect

For Forensics, it has a reputation as being an easy A. This is true if, and only if: you are able to regularly attend the class (labs count for a good bit of points and are hard to make up), and have solid math skills (there is a bit of trig and other physics involved. Generally if you are solid in math 2/3 you will be fine; however if you struggled with those courses you might need to look for additional help) The class can be very enjoyable although morbid at times. There are very fun experiments, good life advice and a story built into the textbook. If you are intimidated by the thickness of the textbook. Don't be, it is a college textbook but the class never gets through all of it. I highly recommended this class for those who are fans of crime shows and forensic-equse shows as it teaches a lot of what they handle on the shows. Mrs. Dilustro does post her slides online, although they can be hard to understand at times. I found the in class explanation made more sense to me.

This class is full of busy work— not a bad thing if you don’t really care for US History, but if you do, it’s a whole lot of nothing. Just slideshows every class. I think he is a sweet person.

For AP Java, the first couple Monday quizzes are brutal, since they catch students off guard in difficulty. Study wisely during the weekends, making sure that you are able to accomplish problems quick enough as to there are only 40 minutes on a Monday collaboration schedule to finish 10-20 problems, depending on quiz. Use the reference sheet as well, as there may be some essential materials that could help you solve a problem quicker. To be frank, expect 50-70% on your quizzes each week. To compensate for the low grades, joining mesa for extra credit and attending a Saturday makeup session can aid your grade.

For Tech Theater, he only plays the videos and expects you to memorize them and answer the questions in Canvas. On the questions, he doesn't allow retakes so it's difficult to get it right first try, especially since he doesn't explain it. He rarely explains the history behind the videos. He's pretty flexible on phones, but it gets boring if you have no friends in the class. If you pay attention to the videos, you'll be okay, but watching a video and answering questions every day gets tiring.

Keep your files organized! Save save save always save your work drafts trust me I learned the hard way just do it. Staying organized on your desktop is key to success in this class! She’s laid back and let’s you listen to music or whatever but trust me it won’t last if you’re not doing your work.

For AP Lang, do not take this class if you want to take the AP test. This class is good if you want to do a lot of Socratic seminars on reading and write essays on books you read every once and awhile. The class has its benefits but does not prepare you for the AP test at all.
