Chinese (took 3yrs including dl this yr) NOT MATH -pay attention in class, its beneficial in the long run -take advantage of the resources around you -dont try to take shortcuts with penmenship (left to right top to bottom) -DL learning i suggest u copy and paste from slides (saves a lot of time) -Quizlet will be your friend -everything is memorization and speech (speak and practice the language) -if u take intro chinese know that it will really start from the beginning
study your notes and prewrite for as many of the essays as possible, keep your binder organized, keep a set of contextualizations for each time period, use the practice tests on myap, don't waste too much time on making things look good but make it readable, ALWAYS USE PEN
**I’ve had her class (history) during the pandemic, so maybe my experience might be different from yours. Every week she makes us find an article to present to the class in groups, this presentation requires: a summary of the story, a story that relates to the article, and our thoughts. Not sure how since it’s easy as it sounds, but every time my group kept getting ~20/40 on them, same with other groups. So be prepared for some weird grading for those. For the book project, I suggest just finding a book, come up with a thesis you think will work, then just skim through the book looking for evidence to support it. Waaaaay easier than actually reading it. She grades easier on these, I suspect it’s cuz since she doesn’t read every book out there she just takes our word on it lol. Tests and quizzes require a LOT of memorization, try to cram as much of the info you can from the worksheets, you’re gonna need them. They’re part mcq, fill ins, and essay, these were pretty hard. I thought I should mention several people I know and several people THEY know are taking summer school cuz of her, for either English or history. If you catch urself with a D in semester 1, I recommend asking for cyber high to take during the second semester, that way you won’t be stuck taking her class during summer school (which she teaches). This class is hard, and tbh she made it hard for everyone including herself at some points, but nontheless I wish you luck.
