Memorize everything, don't forget to do NRYN it actually helps a lot. If you struggle with memorization use RemNote (its free online) and transcribe your notes into it because it create flashcards for you. Study with friends that will help you pay attention. When you participate make sure it's meaningful other wise it doesn't count. This class will suck get used to it, try to have fun.

Make study guides before every test. Raise your hand a bunch and participate. Work with other people too.

This was amazing. Didn't like it at first, but as the year went on, I started to become more interested in history. I know that this is a boring class at times, but what you'll realize by the end of the year is 'wow, this class was better than expected, and now it's over'. I'm finishing up my junior year and wish I could go back to experience some of the moments again, because I didn't pay attention. You hate it one moment but then you start to love it the next, but by that time the course is over and you wish to experience it again and don't want it to be over.
