If you can, don't take this class with Cercet. If you are stuck in this class, be sure to do the worksheets, ask for outside help from other students, and keep your head low. Do the assignments and you should be ok.

French I Students: Study for the quizzes on quizlet by using the test function and do English --> French (WRITE IN) until you get 100%. And use all of the words when you're doing this. Also take advantage of the extra credit opportunities!!! You won't regret it when there's a project you really don't want to do.

You'll have ample time to review but the pace isn't slow. Ask lots of questions, and go over the tests with him after taking them since he'll explain your mistakes to you one-on-one.

There are frequent group tests and projects. The tests aren't bad, but her assistants grade labs very harshly. Edpuzzles are also graded on accuracy and not completion, so pay attention when you're doing them.

ANALYZE ALL YOUR TEXTS! even if it's not a requirement, take time to sit down and really go through and try to understand the meaning behind everything in the text. it will come in so handy for tests, papers, socratic seminars, pop quizzes, etc. she has high expectations for her honors students, so keep that in mind when completing your work. if you want an a on even a simple homework assignment, you have to go above and beyond on all the questions. put your full effort into anything you do and i promise it will pay off. she just wants you to succeed so ask questions whenever you need!

Memorize your scripts as quickly as possible and work in small groups. Memorizing your script will help you get more precise feedback in previews and it's generally a lot less frustrating if you work in small groups. For nearly the entire year, I worked with just one friend and it was a lot easier to get work done.

STUDY OLD HW FOR TESTS!!! Make sure to pay attention to any note videos posted, as they will always provide a baseline understanding of the subject you are on, especially if you were not really getting it in class. If you're confused, don't be afraid to ask questions! Scheidler is one of the best teachers I had, and you can tell there is a genuine passion in the subject.
