You will get the most out of this class if you wholeheartedly, genuinely, actively engage (i. e. ask + answer questions, be curious, bring up interesting points during or after class, etc. ). A good grade is not difficult, but should absolutely not be your end goal.

Mr. Kitada knows what he's doing and does it well, in the most passionate manner imaginable. He is clear on expectations and instructions and all the normal teacher things. But even more importantly, English, being an open-ended subject in nature, demands an open minded teacher-- Mr. Kitada is precisely that. He is willing to go down thoughtful conversation paths with you (at appropriate times) despite potential irrelevancy to the subject, leading to some of the best horizon-expanding experiences possible. Treasure your school year with him.
