Don't hesitate to ask him questions. He is very generous with the information he gives you. All of his quiz and test questions are from the book, so do your readings.

Make sure you pay attention to everything that is going on every lesson builds off of the last.

Mr. Allen is friendly however he never teaches the class and when he does, he fails to keep anybody in control so nobody pays attention. He assigns homework then never checks it. We will randomly get 100 point assignments that severely drop your grade. Tests are worth 100 points and very repetitive. They can be 70 questions long and about 20-30 are the same question. I'm pretty sure he's been fired before. Nice guy, very bad teacher.

Be prepared for tests. Take elaborate notes (takes time) but worth it.

Honestly, this is the best English course I have ever taken. Very informative and prepared me for the AP Exam. Plus, Mr. Brown is very helpful.
