Make sure that you read the material and study well for his tests. He does give pop quizzes, but if you have read the text, you should get nothing below a 90. Study the vocab and make sure you read the books. He gives a lot of homework, so keep up.

Typical English class, but essays are challenging. Vocab is tiresome and pure memorization. There are plenty of games and activities in class which is fun. Mr. Marple is a nice guy, but his teaching style is a bit odd. He goes a while without assigning anything, so you start to think the class is easy, but then he overloads you with work randomly and you barely have time to finish it. Fun class, but a lot of busy work.

He is extremely nice to talk to but strict in reinforcing rules. If you are going through a personal situation, he will understand. He also has a really good sense of humor, so make sure that you're having fun in his class. I know a lot of people complain about the pop quizzes, but honestly, if you read the material like you're supposed to, you wouldn't be complaining.
