Class of -1
This is a class that is not about fostering discussion about the themes of a novel or contemplating the intricacies of the English language but is purely about writing essays. Read the novels she assigns carefully and meticulously for the quizzes, and keep notes on major events that occur in the novel. Remember that everything in the class is mechanically geared towards assisting you in writing essays. Whenever you read the book, think about possible essay prompts and recurring themes, motifs, and symbols in the book. Do whatever you need to do to write good essays because that is what ultimately matters. I repeat, essays. Shall I repeat again? ESSAYS!

This is the hardest English 10 Honors class, but it is by no means impossible. It is simply difficult. I have witnessed people receiving A-'s, but they are often barely catching it by a loose thread. If you are not good at writing, let alone mediocre, do not take this class.
