Make sure to review the day's lesson and past lessons within the unit when you get home, because you never know when you'll have a One-Question-Quiz (they are called "OQQ's") which is either you get full credit (10/10) or no credit (1/10).

Ms. Koehler is undoubtedly the best teacher at Irvington High School. She genuinely wants her students to succeed and is a terrific educator. If you have even an iota of interest in biology, take her class. Even if you don't, do it anyway. She'll make you learn to love it. Ms. Koehler's teaching style is engaging, effective, and fun. It will make you enjoy even the stalest of topics touched upon in the AP bio curriculum. Take her class. You won't regret it.

STUDY STUDY STUDY. Ms, Koehler is a kind teacher who knows her stuff. Her lectures are very simplified which makes it easy to understand and process. She gives homework that is relatively easy, all I can say is don't leave it to the last minute. Her tests are SO HARD. But she really wants the best for you. She really really wants you to do well on the AP Bio exam. Her tests are way harder than her lectures so you go into her class thinking you understand but when the test comes you realize you don't know a lot.

Try to maintain good study habits and review material given in class immediately afterschool. For tests, reference slides and do lots of practice problems online!

The tests are very difficult, but they do prepare you for the actual AP Bio Exam. In fact, the AP Bio Exam is easier than the tests. You also get one test drop per semester. You can tell that Ms. Koehler is very passionate about biology; her passion and ability to teach the subject in a simplified and engaging way really made the class a class you look forward to every day.

Ms. Koehler is one of the top 2 teachers at Irvington (and she's definitely not #2). She is without a doubt one of the kindest, funniest, and nicest teachers you will ever have. Take freshman Living Earth. Take AP Bio. Take whatever class she may be teaching in the future. You will not regret it. Ms. Koehler genuinely wants each and every one of her students to succeed both in and outside the classroom. To that end, she ensures that she is always accessible. She is someone who you're always able to talk to and will gladly answer any questions ranging from course content to cat content (ask about her cats) and everything in between. Ms. Koehler is the pinnacle of what an educator should be. Her lectures are incredibly easy to grasp yet they don't compromise any content. They are both informative yet funny. Ms. Koehler is incredibly relatable and ready to talk at all times. Above all, she really, really, really cares for her students and their futures. If you have even an iota of interest in the study of life, the chance to take Ms. Koehler's classes are an opportunity you CANNOT miss.
