What advice would you give yourself if you were just starting the class now?

Class of 2021

Jul 03, 2019

Every week, there will be a predictable pattern of three of the four days being for note-taking and one of the days being for a quiz/test. If you want to do well in the class, make genuine attempts to solve each of the questions on the warm-ups, take the in-class notes diligently, and review your (hopefully stellar) notes before each test. Even though she never checks the notes, they are helpful to review before each test, as nearly all of the concepts she covers are either in the notes or in the homework. That reminds me–don't let Slader do your homework for you, do the homework yourself! You shouldn't strictly be focusing on the correctness of each of your questions on the homework, (TA grades the homework; as long as you did it you get full credit), you should be working towards getting a thorough understanding of each concept. I would also recommend reviewing the textbook before each test and reading through the sections we cover in class and doing some practice problems in topics you don't feel as confident about. As Mrs. Ciz says before our tests, good luck!
