Finish the work assigned each day as soon as possible because some assignments are randomly checked/stamped. Although there are many days with no homework, there were several weeks with hours of homework each day, and once we had to write an entire short story (multiple chapters and all aspects of the hero's journey) in two days. Aside from the tests, the work is mainly scored based on quantity, not quality. As long as you fill up your paper and write a lot, you should get a good grade.

Read the textbook until your eyes bleed. Freemanpedia.com is your lord and savior. Get a prep book as it will be super helpful when cramming for tests. I took notes until my hand cramped and made them pretty and organized. I studied on my own and ignored him all the time and I DESTROYED the exam. Tip: If you need help writing essays, ask good old Herrick. Right before the test I asked him to evaluate my DBQ and he helped me a lot. I couldn't have done it without him. TL;DR- Ignore most of the stuff he says unless it relates to the exam and don't get on his bad side. Your grade will tank. I was also one of his favorites so I guess it helped me.

While others might find this math course challenging, as Mr. Falt goes pretty quickly compared to Nguyen, as long as you understand the basis of the topics that you are going over, it's fairly easy. I was able to get mostly 4's on the standards as I always wrote out a review sheet about the topic that would be on the test. (*he sometimes talks about key things that will be on the test, if the topic is broad). Others understand the concepts and have it in their heads, but I have a pretty short term memory (LOL), so I make those review sheets and go over it, during C&C or before the testing starts. I simplify the concepts that were confusing or was hard for me, then I just write down the formulas that I need to know, etc. Honestly, I recommend this to anyone, but it's best if you know your own way of studying. It does suck that the tests and finals count more than your homework, but that doesn't mean you should slack off on your homework either. While it's nearly impossible for Falt to raise your grade at the end of the semester, if he sees that you've been constantly trying and you're on the edge of the next higher letter grade, he'll probably raise it for you. (not that I know of anyone he did that for) Always pay attention in class. Seriously, it's not that hard, and if you need help, ask for it, and he'll help you.
