Finish the work assigned each day as soon as possible because some assignments are randomly checked/stamped. Although there are many days with no homework, there were several weeks with hours of homework each day, and once we had to write an entire short story (multiple chapters and all aspects of the hero's journey) in two days. Aside from the tests, the work is mainly scored based on quantity, not quality. As long as you fill up your paper and write a lot, you should get a good grade.

Make sure you do everything, although late work is accepted in most cases, some assignments may get randomly docked points if they are late (others not, the safest bet is just to get everything in on time). The workload is extremely random, some days you'll have hours of work and other days you'll be completely free. Generally expect to lose a few points on all essays and quizzes unless you're an absolute English master.

Memorize the little things, and pick up on things that she briefly mentions. If you don't pay attention, you're going to do poorly. Also, don't ask her questions or else she's going to hate you for the rest of the year (or maybe she'll like you, honestly depends on her mood).

Write fast and be good at finding which notes to take and which not to take, she moves fast on notes and doesn't go back to previous slides even if they're long.
