Class of 2027
The class is very heavy on work, and be expected to spend some time doing annotations or documents. The grading is also quite strict so don't do homework carelessly as B's and A-'s are quite common. Overall, the class Riley teaches is still World Literature and he makes the class still easy to pass with an A if you put in the work.

-Don't ever talk in class unless instructed to do so -Finish your outline or essay a day or two after it's assigned.
Class of -1
The class is very enjoyable and has very valuable lessons that will improve your writing. Make sure to try your best and your A+ in the gradebook will definitely reflect that. Do not cut corners on the small assignments like annotations because you won't learn anything by doing that. Most importantly, have fun. Mr Riley provided some of the most interactive and enjoyable lessons I have ever had at Homestead.
Class of 2025
Am Lit Honors - TONS. OF. READING. Do NOT fall behind, you will regret it... The writing level is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than a baseline English class. Very rigorous, tons of analyzing, memorization of literary terms.

Papers are graded based on the length and word usage, not content. You do not receive a reason on why you got a certain score on an assignment unless you beg Tardies will count as absences
