for ap hug, mr. wong will review material with you through slideshows and do worksheets in class. if you get assigned worksheets the day before in class, expect to be randomly called the next day to share answers. for geography quizzes just be sure to memorize the more well known countries. spend more time studying for tests using collegeboard resources and class worksheets. MAKE SURE to do test corrections to bump up your test grades. overall super easygoing and chill teacher.

Space out your packet, don't do it all on Sunday. A few projects, essays, and presentations, but not bad. There are also country geography quizzes. We watched some documentaries from time to time, you could take notes on those if you wanted to.

He mostly gives lectures, so if you can not sit through those, either ask if you can voice record them or catch up on the material at home and take notes, he does group projects and presentations often, so be prepared to speak in front of the class often.

I genuinely admire this teacher’s dedication to making students independent learners. If you are considering taking this class, I would highly recommend thinking very carefully before committing. The workload is certainly unforgettable. There is seemingly always more homework waiting for you, along with surprise quizzes that keep you constantly prepared for absolutely anything. It is also quite impressive that the lectures and assigned readings rarely seem to correspond. It really encourages students to teach themselves the material, which is especially helpful when the lectures somehow manage to skip over the most important parts. The classroom setup is equally creative. Having everyone face the wall with their backs to the TV is definitely a bold choice. I’m sure there is a perfectly reasonable educational philosophy behind it that I simply have not been enlightened enough to understand. And of course, nothing says “welcome to a new semester” like a unit test two weeks into the term. It is especially exciting when you find yourself wondering whether the material on the test was actually covered in class. Overall, this class has taught me an incredible amount—mostly about how to study independently, read an entire textbook on my own, and prepare for tests without relying too heavily on the teacher. If the goal was to create a self-study course while still calling it a class, I would say the mission was accomplished beautifully.

Very nice and understanding. He might scold you if you really, really disturb the class on purpose. I don't think he will want to teach freshmen again, because the boys in my class were always messing around and about. The girls were completely fine and peaceful. It was funny to watch the contrast everyday, but freshmen boys, don't mess around. Give Mr. Wong a break haha
