Dude is cool as hell, he knows music well as his brother is none other than Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses. Absolutely no problems or specialties in his class, if you play your instrument and you try, easy A and he is very understanding about difficulties with the music etc. even has conversation with his students about anything. Only advice I have is agreeing with the other guy's review, don't forget your stuff, he won't get mad but he'll subconsciously give you this solemn disappointed look followed by an "Oh, ok... " It's not a bad thing, he wants his students to succeed which is why he wants them to play in class, but it will make you feel bad for the rest of the week.

Mr. Mckagan is amazing! Advice I’d give is to NEVER forget you instrument, music, reeds, valve oil, etc, even if you have a stand partner. If you don’t have something he’ll give you this sad/disappointed stare that will make you feel guilty for the rest of the week.

Mr. Mckagan is my favorite teacher I’ve ever had! We learn a lot but also have parties every holiday. During chair tests he gives you a couple weeks notice to practice. Pretty much everybody likes him. You’ll have a great time in band and make lifelong friendships!
