I had her for chemistry of solutions in my second semester. She assigns SO MANY textbook questions for us to do in preparation for the tests since she can't review all the problems in class. You NEED the textbook to succeed in her class; if you understand the textbook, you will be fine. My biggest piece of advice is to do the textbook questions when they are assigned or else they will pile up. Labs are ok, she's not the best at explaining them in my opinion.

I had her for general chemistry. Although she doesn’t explain very well, the PowerPoints that she provides are quite helpful. Her quizzes and tests are pretty similar to the textbook questions that she assigns. I would highly recommend doing them regularly. BE CAREFUL with the sig figs and make sure to include the units of measurement. She’s quite strict with the lab reports. For example: she removes points if you say a substance is transparent instead of colourless. However, she is open to answering questions about the lab reports and telling you what needs to be included in them. There are prelabs that sometimes need to be done but they’re really quite simple. She’s honestly a sweet teacher but she isn’t very clear with her explanations. If you’re able to teach yourself the whole material, you can do well in her class.

-Labs almost every week. Reports are due the week after (1 copy per team). Easy because she makes you do a prelab for each lab so that you know exactly what to do in laboratory. -She does in-class problems and posts textbook problems that are similar to her test questions. -Her PowerPoint slides are useful if you want extra info, but its easier to just take note of everything she writes on the board as those are what she will cover on tests. -Quizzes every now and then, Tests are straightforward and the Final Exam was not too difficult but that will depend on the effort you put on your studies. -Will meet up with you online or answer your questions after class. -Fair grader, but strict with sig figs and wants clear steps and calculations when solving problems in exams.

Her grading scheme is amazing. Labs and assignments are worth 15% EACH (thats a free 30%).. Had her for chem of solutions. Her tests are extremely fair, however the final was harder then expected. She isnt forthcoming with help. If you do the text book problems (which are EXACTLY like her tests) you should be good.
