Very honest review: I took speaking truth to conspiracy and the class was very interesting! But it is extremely difficult and the expectations are very high for writing, memorizing, and LOTS of reading. Good luck.

Interesting class but workload heavy. Lots of reading and writing required. There will be 2 tests where you choose 2 questions based on the topics covered in class and answer them essay style (3-4 pages for each). You will do 1 essay and lots of group interaction, but you get used to it. If you take notes on everything she says and attend every lecture, you will pass the class. Strict with absences and deadlines. This may change but some topics we covered were about Martin Luther, 9/11, the Patriot Act, Lorenzo Valla, climate change, etc. Difficult class but can really help students in the long-term because it challenges them.

Good luck.

She is a nice teacher, but a very strict grader. We had homework every class, cameras had to be on, a lot of notes need to be taken and she makes everyone participate. Exams are very very long. She expects a 2-3 page answer for each question. She has high expectations. She would always ask us to explain in more detail, but when we did, said we exceeded the page limit. She is nice, but expect to work a lot in class, and do very long exams(2000 words or so) for an average grade. Some students would end up with 20-40% even if they wrote a lot, and answered the question as best as they can. Mind you, she would ask for our personal opinion but then remove points for our opinion not being what she wanted. AGAIN, she is nice. Just strict.

She’s a very hard grader and rather rude to students. I would recommend any other course. You will struggle
