If you want to have a relax class in order to focus on your other classes, definitely take her. Just don't expect to get a good R-score from her class because the class average tends to be in the high 80s low 90s. Overall, she is a very lenient teacher. She extended the deadline for the final essay and also allows you to rewrite your essay to get a higher mark and do extra work to improve your grade of previous quizzes

she’s a really nice teacher and her grading is also easy.. she understands that we have other classes so she’s very lenient with due dates and things like that!

Had her for Intro to College English. It's a very easy-going class, and a very welcoming environment. There aren't many projects or home assignments (only one oral presentation was done in the semester); it's mainly in-class stuff based on short stories that you read at home. Attendance is pretty important because of that... There are also quizzes for almost every story, but the questions are really straightforward (it's just to prove that you actually read the story, so the questions are along the lines of, "What did this character do at the end of the story? " or, "What words did this character use to describe the house? "). The assignments aren't difficult, nor are they particularly long, since she actually takes the time to analyse the stories with the class prior to giving you the assignments. Assignments are usually done in pairs (or on your own if you want), and as soon as you turn them in, you can leave. There were two analytical essays to write; the first one is an in-class essay, and you have the choice to write about one of the three stories that you've read and analysed in class. The second is a take-home essay about a story of her choice (usually something non-fictitious). Don't worry too much about the essays - she's a fair grader, and all the assignments you do in class are in preparation for these essays. There are no curveballs. If you follow the outline/instructions she gives to a T, then you'll be fine. The teacher is very friendly and approachable, and very understanding when it comes to personal matters getting in the way (she's not opposed to granting extensions if there's a valid reason, and she offers some make-up assignments towards the end of the semester if you need the extra marks). Ultimately, good class, highly recommended. Just keep up with the work and you'll be fine.

I take Robyn every single semester (and continuing). I took her for fall 2021 and winter 2022 because she is the best. She makes English uncomplicated and is super direct and organized. The topics discussed are intriguing and the class is overall just fun. You do an assignment each class, but it's straightforward because she already dissects everything before writing. Everyone leaves early because the work is just direct. All the assignments are based on music videos, short stories or even movies. I love her so much, her vibe is the best and she is literally the sweetest person ever.

An absolutely amazing teacher. Chill, modern topics (analzing kendrick lamar songs instead of poetry), straightforward, fun. Not a lot of homework for an english class
