I took him for Linear Algebra. You really have to make sure you do the homework, and the best way to study for the tests is to just redo the homework and look at your notes. The in-class notes are really good, so if you take notes every class you should be good to do the homework.

The homework feels like a lot but you need to do it to do well. The questions on tests and the final are no different from the homework from the book, and the questions are not difficult to understand but some can be challenging. If you work very hard for this class, you can definitely do good especially if you do good on the final which isnt any more difficult than the test difficulty imo. However, the time you need to dedicate to this class is a lot and it gets overwhelming because it is very time-consuming. If you have questions, ASK during class as soon as possible even if it feels awkward or if the teacher seems annoyed. He knows his stuff and explains well, but is easy to lose points on tests and your grade goes down fast as a result so beware. You are expected to know stuff from your previous classes (such as cal 1, if you are taking cal 2). I had him for cal 2. there were no webworks or quizzes, only 3 tests and a final.

Decent explanations. Lots of notes and examples. Theory-heavy course material. Passive aggressive teacher. VERY challenging exams. A LOT of homework. Quizzes every week. If you are truly dedicated to learn maths in depth, take him.

The average was often very low because as I said, it is very easy to lose 1 point and go down quickly.

I had him for linear algebra. He is a very knowledgeable teacher. You will be taking lots of notes in his class. Your notebook will look like a textbook at the end of the semester (i myself did not really appreciate. it is hard to keep up with his pace. you will have to study again on your own which is not very efficient given our limited time that must be spent studying for other courses as well). Make sure you study from the book in your own time and no matter what happens, do the practice questions. You will fall behind very easily and it will be hard to catch up. There were quizzes every week and 2 tests. His tests are not particularly difficult, but he is a tough grader with great focus on details. Make sure you mention the details and you know the name of the rules.
