I had her for Thinking Through Film. It’s an interesting class if you’re into cinema and film production. You learn the vocabulary and the work that goes behind shooting a movie. Most of the time we just watched movies and had to take notes on them for our tests. We had one test per movie. The tests are pretty easy if you take enough notes. WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN. How characters talk to each other, the camera angles, the type of music/sound design. Everything is important because she looks for details in your answers. As long as you pay attention and take notes, you’re good. I got 87 and I didn’t even put in all of my effort. She’s a very nice teacher and understanding too so don’t be shy to MIO her or go to her office hours for anything.
I took Ethical Issues with this teacher. It required a lot of writing for case studies. Most of the course is based on what you think is the right answer. If you back it up with facts then you should do pretty well. I wrote down the notes she wrote on the board and they were enough for my test.
Take a lot of notes about everything she says and makes you watch.
