Do his webworks especially. The types of questions he asks on the tests or quizzes are the same as those in Webworks. You can also practice with the sample questions he gives in the slides. They are beneficial. Generally, you should put in the work like any other class since you still need to understand what is being taught whether at home or in his classes. For the labs, you just need to worry about being there and putting the data. Although he may mention things like wrong data, he will still give you a very high mark for it.

He is very passionate about what he teaches, he will answer questions before, during and after class until you have fully understood them. Slides for every topic are posted online and projected during class, so all you need to do during class is listen and ask questions.

Posts Lecture Slides and gives Webworks exercises for each chapter. Problems are similar to the ones in tests and Final Exam. Practice these and you should be good. Webworks are not easy but he will be more than happy to help you with them and will solve them with the class. Not much note-taking required as everything is already in Slides. Labs are done in teams of two and Reports are submitted the week after, online, one copy per team. Labs can be confusing but he will explain if needed. Quizzes and Tests are straight-forward and grades fairly (if you are absent during a test for a valid reason he will allow for a make up)

I had Jicai Pan for the semester of winter 2022 for waves, and he was so nice. He always does his best in trying to explain hard concepts to students although explanations could somewhat be confusing at times. His tests are fair and if you study, you should be fine. I feel that you need to review the material at home (self-study) to better understand because going to class is sometimes not enough. His slides are super understandable and organized so you won't have a difficult time. He was definitely the top-ranking teacher in the physics department because he was so organized that it prepared us for the final.

The teacher tends not to be very clear in his explanations and gets frustrated/ cuts people off when students don't understand or ask too many questions. He does not write notes during lectures but simply reads from slides. There is zero leniency when it comes to online learning and late submissions because of wifi issues. He is very strict with grading and takes a lot of marks off for small misunderstandings. Although there were these issues, his class does seem to be an easier level than other courses and tests are very straightforward to follow and complete.
