I took his Understanding America course. Most of the class found it pretty boring, but I was so engaged in the material. Beware there's a 1500 word essay, but it's not actually too bad, he gives you a pretty detailed outline of what he wants. You're gonna get good at taking concise and precise notes in this class.

make sure you take good notes because you will need them for exams. his classes are really dynamic and i had a fun time. class goes by pretty quickly and the material is fairly interesting. make sure you to memorize the general ideas and not go into the details because he looks for a general comprehension of the material. i would totally take a course with him again
