He is a very nice and passionate teacher. The material (Calculus or Linear Algebra) can be overwhelming at first, but the documents, homework and assignments are there to make the learning easier. If you are struggling in the class, ask the teacher to help you out, he will be glad to help.

Had him for Cal 1 in Fall 21. Be sure to review your notes, he goes very quickly in class so be ready to do a lot on your own in order to have a good understanding. He also gives class exercices (ICE) to do each week; be sure to understand all the problems he gives in these ICE's since they might reappear in his tests. He gives a lot of webworks to do, and these webworks can be really helpful if you take the time to do them correctly. The teacher is very kind and sweet and is always ready to help you, and he is very dynamic and interactive during his lectures.

For Calculus I: He's a one-of-a-kind teacher. There are a lot of things that I will appreciate him for, even throughout the next semesters, because as far as I know, he is a must-pick. As a person, he's incredibly understanding and energetic, which I really enjoyed. Making Calculus a fun subject to learn is very hard, but with him, you do and with laughter. He answers pretty fast at his MIOs (avg of 5min wait during his peak hours) and his answers are clear and straightforward. As for the class, I enjoyed it a lot. He uses his PowerPoints to lecture us, and he is pretty visual with his stuff (writes on the whiteboard and the smartboard). The amount of memorization is, of course, high, as it is a Calculus class. To be fair, I do think he slides through the subject pretty fast. If you want to follow him, be very attentive. Technology use in class is permitted, as I used mine to follow him in his slides. Phones, however, are less appreciated. For evaluations, there are two things to consider: ICEs (in-class exercises) and tests (midterm and final). ICEs are a set of exercises (about 5-6) given weekly during class time. They tend to last the entire 2 hour period allotted, and they are pretty fair. He is there to help you, and you can work on it with your peers. There are two tests given during the semester - Midterm and Final - both tests are just a bunch of questions that ask you to do this, or do that (differentiate the following... :, solve the following... :, find the... :). The questions are obviously fair, and they are fairly straightforward if you studied correctly. A tip to pass this class easily is to be present at all classes, one class missed is a chapter missed lol. You should also keep track of your notes and look at them once in a while, and do a bunch of exercises at home. All things considered, Christian Stahn is a very competent and friendly teacher. You'll love having him.

Took his linear 1 course. Material starts out easy enough but gets significantly more difficult at the middle/end of the course. He goes really fast though so it's sometimes hard to understand what's going on and to know if you have questions or not since sometime you may think you understand but since it went so fast there wasn't much time for any of it to sink in. He has weekly in class exercises which are sometimes rather challenging, but he usually posts them on Omnivox before hand and if it's a longer one he may extend the due date in order to give more time to complete. Overall good teacher and very chill guy, but goes really fast.

You must review the formulas. He is generous in grades. You have a lot of webworks to do which is helpful because he takes time to reply to you in webwork. He is a nice person. His exams are fair and you already saw it in the class. I like how he use his own slides and write in there. He is a knowledgeable math teacher. You have quizzes every week but he is there to guide you. So, interactive!

Very great! However, as a student you need to do your part. If you fail in his class, it is your fault. Maybe, you did not practice a lot hehe.
