Do NOT listen to that review saying how she is a decent teacher, etc. ; she is NOT. She is a human being that has such flawed logic in her mathematics; however, ironically, she has such terrible logic in the classroom and in her grading. First off, her grading is absolutely ridiculous; she thinks her way of doing mathematics is the best way. The woman herself would correct Newton if he had done one of her tests. She loves to take off points for the dumbest reasons possible, even if you're 100 percent right (you can go to other math teachers and they will agree your right) MATH IS MATH!!!. This teacher is a total comedian, and I recommend that if you truly want to see a person not doing their job properly, go to her class. If not, avoid her at all costs. More than 80 percent of my class failed; it is NOT worth it. I just want her to answer this question: Whats the point of becoming a teacher if your willing to do everything you can to bring down your students?

The class average/median was 47/44 respectively this semester. People that took her previous semesters reported the same grades. She refuses to curve the grades and only 6 people ended up passing. Terrible teaching method that just confuses everyone and removes points for nothing on tests. Avoid at all costs.

The course itself isn't very intuitive, but you can tell that the teacher knows the material down to the finest detail and will always explain it in the correct terms. The exam questions are similar to the suggested textbook examples as well as the WebWorks. She always mentions what the tests or quizzes will cover, and supply a list of textbook problems for them. The quizzes are quite literally questions pulled from the WebWorks and consolidate the things you learn in class. The hard part of the course is writing your explanations accurately, but she does go through a significant amount of examples in class, including proof writing, and is always very rigorous on her own writing and explanations which makes it clear as to how she expects answers on tests. Homework wise, she expects everyone to submit a PDF of their WebWork solutions, but our final grades for the homework ended up being an exact transcription of the WebWork scoring. Overall, I don't think the low ratings do the teacher justice. She's actually a great teacher and I had a good semester learning from her. Though I will say, the course itself requires pretty good attendance and a good amount of outside studying. As much as it might sound nerdy, you'll need to spend time pondering proofs otherwise you'll (probably) never understand/be able to write them.
