Fantastic class. Had him for knowledge 8 am lectures can be boring, but the material is really interesting, so it's hard to fall asleep. He is a really nice guy, and he really loves what he teaches, so it's easy to engage in his class. There are basically no extra readings that are necessary (although he will post optional readings) and basically no homework other than to study on notes. Attendance is really recommended, as for you to do well, you just need to answer his questions on tests and in class assignments, which are heavily related to the lectures. It's a fun class, you watch movies that pertain to the course. To do well, just answer the test questions well, and study notes, I got a 98 and I barely tried other than taking diligent notes. Left the course feeling like I genuinely learned something important.

There’s usually 2 Essays and 2 Tests, that is the only work you have to do. You need to show up and take notes in class but that is really it. Memorize the concepts and write about them and you get good grades.

he's very passionate about the content, which makes the class that much more fun. if you want you can skip but having a friend to catch you up on the material is absolutely needed at that point, or you may not do so well. no in class work, group work, participation (unless you want to! ) or orals. just two tests (multiple choice + essay questions) and 3 essays (4-5 pages long). topics are super interesting and he's a very easy grader, just as long as you know what you are writing about. he always tells you in class what's going to be on the tests so pay attention, and sometimes he will post that as an announcement. overall super chill class, you won't regret taking him :)

I had him for his "Human nature and the good life" course (humanities 101). The course itself was great, but his delivery made it even better. He usually does not have a set course material and changes the concepts he presents. Take notes in class. He tells you the material and almost the questions that will show on the tests about a class before, but he usually mentions them even during the lectures. You will have 2 to 3 take-home essays and 2 tests. He is extremely sweet and a very nice grader. DEFINATELY TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN. I had a great time in his class and it created an undying love for philosophy within me.

Blakeslee’s class is probably one of the easiest humanities classes you can take. He doesn’t post his notes online but does post some of the readings where he got the notes. Make sure to go over those before tests since his essay questions are based on them. He’ll usually tell you what will be on the test, so if you listen in class and take notes you’re all good.
