Class of 2021
There will be a great deal of reading and writing, but to counter balance that, there are also open book tests. Take thorough notes, read the textbook, and watch the documentaries and you will be fine.
Class of 2020
The class was fun and interesting. It was fun to learn about Indigenous people in a different perspective. Very few assignments, one or two essay and an open-book exam. Textbook required.

Class of 2021
Professor Dewan is very soft-spoken, so he can be a bit difficult for those that are Hard of Hearing, but he is a kind professor. He is generous with marking and thorough with his explanations.
Class of 2020
He is oddly fun and approachable. Always ready to help. He sometimes forgets to do attendance at the beginning of the class so lateness can be forgiven. Don't miss class because you won't understand a thing in the next class. Easy and fair grader. Super talkative that he sometimes goes astray from the material covered in class. Also, when you are notetaking, you WILL never know when he is talking about the course material or he is talking about something related to it, until halfway through it that you realized you've been writing down an incident he had experienced. lol
