For computer engineering: do the work, try to develop a keen interest in the subject matter, respond well to feedback, and ask questions. Before having him as my teacher I was told that he was insanely difficult, but as it turned out with the right work ethic his class was quite enjoyable, especially if you find the material fun and/or interesting.

Had him in the second half of computer engineering back in semester 1, 2017/18. I found Mr. Anderson to be a rather enigmatic figure, but in a good way. He gave a very reasonable workload, a fun summative, and fun autocad assignments. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in his class.
