For computer engineering: do the work, try to develop a keen interest in the subject matter, respond well to feedback, and ask questions. Before having him as my teacher I was told that he was insanely difficult, but as it turned out with the right work ethic his class was quite enjoyable, especially if you find the material fun and/or interesting.
Do the homework, practice the questions over and over again and you're primed for a 90+ grade. Also, frequently ask questions, be it by interrupting lessons or when you're left to practice as the explanations are not always clear.
I got a 98 in my report card and I have been in Mr. Boparai's class before. First of all, make an excellent first impression, that's generally important for any teacher. Just listen to him during class, and you'll be able to complete the tests perfectly. Good luck students!
