The way Hoag teaches his classes is very straight forward. Pay attention, but most importantly, TAKE GOOD NOTES. Many of the slides he prepares and posts do not contain all the information given, but that is because he is explaining it as he goes, which is EXACTLY how a professor at University or College does it. His class is not all about teaching you the subject matter, but also about preparing you for Post-Secondary education. Be prepared to use your brain and to think of original thoughts in order to get a high mark; repeating information back will get you a 75%, if you want higher, you need to think and communicate clearly, and show him. He is regularly available at lunch and after school, but give notice, otherwise he will get busy. There have been times I even video called him in the evenings and he helped me with my questions. Tl; DR Take good notes Focus on what he says, not what is on the board Ask for help in advance Communicate and make connections well on tests Don't screw around in class
