The work isn't really too hard, just do a bit every day and you'll be ok. There are not tons of assignments so every single one matters quite a bit.

Tests are difficult, there is always at LEAST one question on a test that was not on review and/or was not taught in class at all.

The way Hoag teaches his classes is very straight forward. Pay attention, but most importantly, TAKE GOOD NOTES. Many of the slides he prepares and posts do not contain all the information given, but that is because he is explaining it as he goes, which is EXACTLY how a professor at University or College does it. His class is not all about teaching you the subject matter, but also about preparing you for Post-Secondary education. Be prepared to use your brain and to think of original thoughts in order to get a high mark; repeating information back will get you a 75%, if you want higher, you need to think and communicate clearly, and show him. He is regularly available at lunch and after school, but give notice, otherwise he will get busy. There have been times I even video called him in the evenings and he helped me with my questions. Tl; DR Take good notes Focus on what he says, not what is on the board Ask for help in advance Communicate and make connections well on tests Don't screw around in class

Best tech teacher in the school (tied with Mr. Pierce) as long as you complete the work and participate you should get a good grade as most assignments are completion based

(teacher part) If she is your teacher, transfer out immediately, doesn't matter if you are a straight 90s acedemic student or you average 30 in applied. She has absolutely no chill whatsoever (in a bad way) and provides no leniency to anyone regardless of circumstances. She governs her class with extreme bias (no one is safe) as well. Don't bother trying to reason with her about anything ever no matter how good your points are or how bad her reasoning is, she simply does not care in the slightest. She has no concept of the fact that you have other things to do on a daily basis, and punishes as if we are in the real world. (class part) don't even bother with the test reviews because around half of the questions on it have nothing to do with the ones on the test, and the ones that are on the test only vaguely point to the general subject of the question, for example on the review it would say what are heliographics and who made them (5 marks) then on the test it will be write a 3 paragraph essay on heliographics (25 marks). Any mistakes whatsoever including being 1 day or 2 late to handing in an assignment will result in an email/phone call to your parents

Shes an understanding teacher!! very easy class as well (as drama is). if you participate and get everything handed in on time, you can easily pass. little to no homework really, just very few sheets that you'd need to write up but can be easily done if you have her before 4th period. very hands-on class as well, so if you arent afraid of public speaking, or you're very big on drama / acting, take her class!! shes very nice as well. 10/10 one of my favourite teachers the goat frfr

STAY AWAKE IN ART HISTORY. I swear gng if you lock in, it's genuinely so much fun. Lowk some of the people in art history are FREAKS (Caravaggio, Gogin, etc. ), and it will be on the exam.
