If you understand what Mr. Lennard wants, the lad will give you A's all over.

I took Mr. Mackay's Law 12 class. It was a good elective and a very interesting class. The teacher goes on very interesting rambles whilst reading from the textbook and I found it quite amusing. The classwork is not too bad. Basically, you have to go through a unit, do a page of homework after every class, correct it the next day (trust me do your homework its embarrassing if you don't because you're supposed to hand the paper to the person behind you), and then write a test about the unit. A tip for his students, google the name of the chapter you guys are on with the name of the textbook and then "summary" and you should find a pdf of slides summarizing the chapter. This really helped whilst studying, but please keep in mind that these summaries will not have every piece of information you need to know for the test. Tests are just short answers and multiple choice regarding the chapter. In addition to the unit tests, there is one essay you have to write (I think everybody got an A) and one mock trial you do in a group. Also, each person has to do a "current event", which is a presentation that you do in front of a class regarding a current event going on right now and how it relates to Canadian law. I don't know why but this was the most nerve-racking presentation that I had ever given, probably because I was one of few grade 11's in a class of majority grade 12's. The teacher likes to call on students a lot, but he also likes when people put up their hands and volunteer. I always volunteered for the questions I knew so he wouldn't call on me for the ones I didn't know. But, if you don't know the answer, saying "I don't know" is acceptable.

Pay attention in class, she goes over the slides for the unit very well. Read the review sheets.
