Most of the marks come from 3 tests, and three source interpretations/ essays (dissertations for the french kids). You are asked to read your entire textbook during the class.

I had Mr. Farley in the second half of the 2019-2020 school year for social studies 10 in french, meaning I only had him in class for a couple of months. He was great in class and online. He lets you know exactly what he is looking for, and, for source interpretations, a checklist to learn. You have a lot of class discussions, and he tells lots of stories. You could spend the whole class talking about a picture, a video, and have a great time doing so. I found Mr. Farley absolutely hilarious. I always looked forward to his classes. I found that he was a bit hard to understand on the first day, as he spoke quite quickly with a bit of a Quebec accent, but by the end of the third class, I could understand everything that he said. I know that source interpretations might cause some people anxiety, but they really aren't so bad. He will read it, and give you feedback, so that you can do your absolute best on the following ones. He does ask that you read the whole textbook during the term(s) that you have social. I know that might sound ridiculous, but doing so helps give you more insight into the class and your discussions. He will help you if, and when, you need it. I had an excellent time in Mr. Farley's class.
