Overall, I have to say that AP Chemistry was my favorite class that I've ever taken in high school. The curriculum is challenging yet engaging, and with the right teacher, support system, and urge for learning, this class is both achievable and enjoyable. The main tips that I've picked up along the way to understanding the curriculum include: -If you have lectures that utilize a textbook, read the chapter beforehand to give yourself a better grasp of the subject. -If you are confused, speak to your professor or anther student immediately, ad don't let yourself fall behind -Take the small assignments seriously. What I didn't realize until late in my first semester, was that often the small everyday worksheets were "check-in points" for students, to see if they knew the material well enough to not have to fully use the lecture notes or textbook to complete the assignment. -Constantly be reviewing your current unit themes and semi-constantly be reviewing your past unit themes. It is often difficult to see, but the units build off of each other, and having a better understanding of past themes makes learning new one just that much easier. -Read over the lab procedure and background information provided. This is a minor step, but it makes completing the lab procedure, applying the concepts of the unit to the lab, and writing your lab report so much easier.
