Do what you're told, you don't want to get yelled at for 5 minutes, always do the homework he checks certain problems, make sure you show all your work, be polite, raise your hand.
Be prepared to take notes! Also the class moves very fast paced, once we start a new chapter we usually have 5 lessons then a quiz day followed by 5-7 more lessons, a review day then a Test day
