I have not found the class to be extremely difficult, it is very doable. The assignments are interesting enough, and the class is run well. Ms. VanOrden is kind, and allows students to socialize a good amount. Memorization is minimal because most tests are open notes. It does help to fully understand and know your notes however. There are some that are not, but most are.

Ms. VanOrden is an enjoyable teacher. In my experience, her class has not been my favorite nor my least favorite. It has been interesting enough, and I’ve never had any issues. She is generally a very fair grader (maybe leaning towards the easy side), has very average assignments, and tests at a fair level. Homework is pretty minimal (only occasional), and she provides extensive opportunities to talk and worth with friends.
