Make sure you pay attention to the study guides she gives you. Prepare in advance for all the tests, read the books, and get everything turned in on time and you should be okay.

read the books. it's an English class. also, try to have good penmanship. and have writing utensils that aren't going to kill your hands in a matter of seconds. be prepared to participate in the class discussions, because those happen almost daily - excluding when it's a testing day.

VanOrden is the nicest teacher you will ever meet. Her class is very informative and can be challenging, but as long as you put in the effort she will be lenient. Again, the nicest teacher.

don't take this class unless you are willing to work. don't be afraid to talk to Mrs Van Orden. she wants nothing but the best for her students. she is amazing and kind of the Mary Poppins of teachers - practically perfect in every way.
