Class of 2020
I took English 1010 and 2010. Both classes were challenging and required a lot of work but were very rewarding in the end. For almost all of our writing assignments, we got to pick our topics. I would definitely recommend these classes for anyone looking to improve their writing for college or challenge themselves.
Class of 2021
I have taken all 3 of Burr's classes, my sophomore year, ENG1010 and ENG2010 I wouldn't have taken her class after my first year but scheduling ended up putting me there. You're better off choosing any other teacher at Herriman High, Burr prides herself on her experience in teaching but lacks the commonality and sense to run a modern class. You will receive daily essay assignments that will take you 3+ hours on top of projects on top of journal entries you have to maintain. Half of the work is just filler and when asking a question you will have to reiterate yourself at least 3 times to have her comprehend the question and another 2 times so she can actually answer your question. Essays are easy to fake if you can write them fast but if you want a positive experience in Language Arts you will receive extensive knowledge on how to work with dependant clauses but that's it.

Burr is a lovely woman, and I wish her well but her attitude and posturing make a bad experience overall for the class due to the mass workload she requires.
