You'll get from this exactly what you put into it. Everyone will pass the class, it's not hard to get the passing or high grade in any way, and you'll likely be boosted. If you're trying for AP credit though, just put in some work beyond minimum. You'll need to do more than this class technically requires because frankly, it's poor preparation if you're just doing what's given to you. If they're still using the codingbat website, work through those, the practice is great and exactly what you need.

kiesel is niether a great nor terrible teacher. He will put into you what you put into programming. Those who just want to pass a coding class will do just that, and the class will have been entirely a blow-off. If you're looking for more, talk to the guy when you can, and get involved in the coding groups. Ask for more assignments even if you can't do the groups, he can do more for you than he shows to the class, just approach him and honestly be interested if you can.
