This man is a legend. He had been teaching at LSA for 25 years, and he even taught my uncle. He wore a bow-tie and suspenders to class every day, and coughed like he was about to set the room into an earthquake. Not only was he fair, but he was kind. When I was in junior year, I had some health issues. When I showed up to his class after being in the hospital for a few months, he came up to me and slapped me on the back heartily saying " Hang in there, buddy! " he then hobbled back over to his desk and got back to talking about Ponce de Leon, 1512. Later, in an email, he told me that "jesus loves you" will never forget that day, and it's left a massive impact on me. It's the reason I want to be a teacher. You are unlucky that he is retired now because he would have changed your life had you had him. Thank you for reading.
