Use the Quizlet religiously, memorize it in and out, you can get a *lot* of extra credit from winning at Quizlet Live. Know dates, don't drop knowledge after a topic ends, remember it and connect it to what you're currently learning in the class. Making connections is powerful in this class.

You get a lot of chances to raise your hand and get engaged. Make sure you do, or you won't get your participation points. Stay locked in for the entire period. Also, fair warning to those of you startled by loud noises - this man's voice is a megaphone at the end of work days. (And I have a seat right next to his desk. ) One of the best teachers I have ever had.
