Essays are the most important grades by far in the class. Just read the books, the sections tested are typically short and the questions are too specific for SparkNotes.

Test material is often not covered in class, and only some of what will be on the test is told to us, be prepared for some curveballs! Lots of mundane busy work. Also, be prepared to use Canvas for many assignments that are often not clearly organized or named.

There's 1 homework assignment per topic (every ~2 weeks if I remember correctly), and the whole thing takes about 5 hours. Don't skip it! The medium-difficulty problems are great test prep. The tests are HARD. Pay attention to the in-class and homework problems and the procedure for solving them/thinking about physics problems in general.

Be prepared to read a lot and have reading tests on specific areas of the books you read without much context (i. e. "what happened on page 14")
