If you're taking AP Huge, don't waste time reading the textbook. It's lengthy, and you can be more time-efficient and learn the same material from just looking at the notes. Make sure you are memorizing all the terms. The class depends on it. The tests are also weighted heavily, so make sure you do well on them although projects (that are generally easy) can help boost your grade.

Be prepared for a LOT of work and homework. You often won't have enough time in class to complete work given, so be ready to finish things at home. When doing reading checks and vocabulary quizzes, KNOW YOUR MATERIAL. These assessments will often require very close reading of either the book or the quiz questions in order for you to score well.

Pay attention in class because there is 0 chance you will learn at home. There are NO resources you can use to self-teach, only basic notes that don't teach you how to learn well.

the classes that he teaches are all computer type classes, I've taken adobe visual and Microsoft excel with him and both were fairly easy. adobe is all project based work and he does a very good job of explaining how to use the programs in the class.

Do all of the homework. Every concept is important, and you will be tested on it. Check your work repeatedly. The math 3 EOC is a lot easier than the class, as it is completely calculator active and you can use desmos.

AP Lang with Holland is a nice experience. She is a nice teacher, and she gives EXCELLENT feedback, so pay attention to what she says about your writing. This class will be hard at first; you might be used to formulaic writing when writing essays, but in this class, you HAVE to let go of that. Your writing needs to be natural and nuanced, not formulaic like English 2. We don't get tests, but we do have timed writings often. To study for those, just find some AP Lang FRQs or something. Every quarter, you will have a multiple-choice test. I found that to be tricky, but just do the process of elimination and read the questions before answering; it's like the SAT, but the passages are denser.

Some people assume ap statistics is an easy class but it isn't easy per se. People (who have gotten As in AP Physics 1 and other similarly difficult courses) have gotten mid Bs in this class. It's pretty easy to maintain a B but an A requires HARD work. It is especically important to the HW and the problems (they have work shown) in the slides because similar questions show up on tests and quizzes.

READ THE TEXTBOOK! To get an A in the class, please read the textbook, and do not miss ANY detail! Her test questions (all MCQs and a few FRQs) are extremely, extremely conceptual, and can throw you off guard if you didn’t study. Study the labs, articles, EVERYTHING. Do the textbook quizzes questions she gives in the website over and over again, cause HALF of the test comes from that. Make sure to complete labs on time, as most of them are due at the end of the class period; develop writing speed. She did NOT post the slides she does in class, so make sure you do all the notes. Pay attention to what she says and how she explains things.

- Try not to procrastinate, but if you know you're going to at least procrastinate in an organized manner - There's a super high workload that can be kind of annoying sometimes but you just gotta buck up and deal - Give the class at least 80% of your effort, it's not bad but you do kinda have to try

Mrs. pyland is a great teacher, and a master in her field. This is a very different class studying wise. If you are used to getting As, you need to study differently and work hard at home. Take notes in class, and retake all the notes at home, combining content from class slides and the textbook. Take practice multiple choice questions for the assessments, which are challenging. After you understand how the questions are structured, you will do well. Mrs. Pyland will help you suceed and she's a great teacher!

I took Honors Chemistry with Ms. Reed and it was a great course. Often people will talk about how impossible Honors Chem is and that it is the hardest class you will take at green hope. In Ms. Reed’s class this is not true. Although Chem is challenging for sure, Ms. Reed is a great teacher and explains everything very well she is always available for help as well. Make sure you do all the homework and pay attention during notes and it will be a super chill class!

Not all the rubrics are reviewed for smaller assignments, and the class often lack feedback for one's work. The content in APUSH and sociology is so interesting; however, opportunities to be creative freethinkers are lacking.

A is attainable as long as you use your resources right. There are many students who study hard but not effectively and end up getting B's in Honors Bio. Find an ideal study method suited for you (Quizlet is optimal for many students) and you will get an A. Make sure to study 10 minutes a day too, so the whole experience is less stressful.

Latin is very easy as long as you actually try. Just 10 minutes a day of review really helps. And pay attention in class, if you doze off you could easily miss something very important. Mr. Smith is available for extra help during lunch most of the time so if you need clarification you can always just ask him.

Content is only covered in 30 minute note sessions that are far too short, and then most of it is never seen until the exam as the class goes to lab after lab after lab. The textbook is imo too saturated to cover for home alone, unless you want to take another set of notes. Don't take the class if you're doing it solo, it will be near impossible to get a good grade. Get some friends in the class period and work together. Really though I cannot recommend taking the class at all.
