Make sure to actually put effort in your annotations. Analyzing details of your reading plays a much bigger part in this class curriculum than you would think. From class discussions & activities to evidence in essays (that'd count for most of your grade), good annotations will help you succeed.

Class of 2023

If you're into reading, analyzing, and having meaningful discussion of stories and text—believe me you will adore this class. Even if you don't, just have fun and put in your best efforts anyway, it'll definitely pay off as the highlight of your day if you get to enjoy it. The teacher is all-around fun to be with, her cutting edge sarcasm and critiques are great to have in a conversation, and you can tell that she genuinely gets to know every person in the class. There's a lot of fun activities in this curriculum, which includes a lot of open-minded and interesting interactions with your class. The tests and essays might be difficult but, if you allow yourself to, it will be a fun, exciting, and educational time.
