The screencasts are very helpful with the outlines. The curriculum is based on the textbook but the module assessments are based on the contents of the screencasts. Mrs. Brandon is always willing to help and you can always stop by to finish up any work.

Quizlets help with the memorization of insane amounts of vocabulary words. For heritage kids, having another in the class or parents at home to help with homework is a huge plus and was the only thing that kept me going. Try to memorize everything as soon as she says it, it’ll help you.

If you happen to get her as your teacher, most likely for AP United States History in Junior year, be prepared to watch your grades go through a "roller coaster" pattern. She is strict on grading and you're only allowed to redo one assignment you forgot otherwise everything afterwards is considered missing. She bends the holiday break system assigning work still but due maybe one or two days after break ends so there is actually no time to relax. Notes are to be taken exactly as she specified unless you rather receive countless complaints through emails and comments regarding it.

I never memorized words last year, but in Sokolovski’s class I spent a lot of me time trying to remember words because it was really interesting and she was so sweet. I’m so bad at russian but she makes me excited to come to school everyday (I’m saying this from the POV of someone who’s been burned out). I love her so much I was about to take college russian this year but it was too late to switch. I was SO scared in the beginning of the year because I heard she was really strict, she is, but she actually cares about her students and shes so chill and funny.
