I had Mr. Basso for IB Gov't & Econ. First, he will give a ton of homework and readings. The readings are very dense and are usually around 8 to 11 pages, back-to-back. His questions will range from 11 to as high as 30. He collects homework, but it's an automatic 41%. I highly suggest finishing his homework first. Once you start to miss his homework, it will just keep piling on and on. He also assigns essays and he wants them in a certain way, the MLA format. The essay is graded not only on the content but also the format, so make sure to follow the MLA format closely.
I had Mr. Cogan for IB English and the majority of his assignments are creative writing, where you write a story based on anything you like (unless specified) with little to no restrictions. I suggest just getting these done as soon as possible since he does not give a lot of homework, meaning every homework he does give weighs a lot. For our class, we also had to read poems for the first semester and plays in the second. For the poems, I suggest just writing EVERYTHING he says. Annotate your poems which will help you prepare for IO (Individual Oral). For the play, he will actually show the play in the class, it will be very dry but focus on his side comments since it's more helpful.
